What was a worrying week leading up to the rescheduled help 4 heroes open, was no need to have been at all. Although only half the amount of dog's we usually have, the support for this very worthy cause was unbelievable. Everyone enjoyed the fun and games, dog show and the excellent racing throughout the day. The penalty shoot out had a better atmosphere than the world cup! Lee had the unfortunate job as goalie and was brilliant at it. Men's winner was Pete Sunderland, women's was won by Denise Brunt. Younger ones had a go as well, Sam won the lad's and Ellie the lasses, well done to you all, great entertainment. Les judged the dog show, held in the break. Puppy winner was Kev's Lucky (Never say Never x Pipistrelle). Adult's, Sadie's Divalicious (Just Friends x Acca) and vet's was won by Sharon's 8y.o. Umbro (Striesand x Elbon Sue). All winner's received a bag of goodies and their owner's a box of chocs, well done everyone. Now onto lot's of thank you's. To people that hadn't got a dog running but came to show their spport. For prizes donated to make a brilliant raffle, which we sold nearly 2 book's of ticket's. To Michael, our lure lad donating his lure money back. bwra east midland region and old hall wrc donation's and lastly at the presentation nearly everyone donated their winning's back, resulting in the amazing total of £613 which show's the generosity of those who attended as we only had half the amount of dog's we had last year but made £63 more, a massive thank you. Another list of thank's go to the worker's, Tony on the trap's and organizing the penalty shoot out. Lee and Paul helping Les set the track up as well as Paul on the lure and Lee weighing in. Michael running up and down with the lure all day, and everyone who helped take the track down. Last but not least, Yvonne, without whose help (especially to me) we wouldn't be able to put on such a fantastic event. Don and Ruth's Viv's Shadow was on top form, winning the bitch final, as was John and Elaine's Little Slimfast winning the dog's. The sup run-off for the help 4 heroes silver cup went to Viv's Shadow from a game Little Slimfast, well done. The vet's was won by Mick and Gloria's Classic Rock, who has been running very well at the club. Karen's Never Two Late won the junior's (a double for Chief Karen, a race and show winner in the same day!) The 45lb Scratch was a brilliant race won by Dean and Ellis's Nice n Easy, who also took supreme from the No Limit winner, Michael's fast finishing, Lillies Rose. All class winner's received a silver medal and supremes a gold one, kindly donated by Kath (Josh) Law, thank's a lot Kath, they are much appreciated. onto the result's;
